The doctors can know how well the organs of the body are working by different blood tests. By these tests, the doctors can also diagnose various diseases and conditions. Some blood tests are described here.

  • Blood Glucose Test

Blood glucose tests are also referred to as blood glucose tests. After you have fasted, they can be done. As a test called an oral glucose tolerance test, they can also be done. To check for or monitor diabetes, they are usually used.

  • Calcium Blood Test

As calcium gives strength to your bones, it is very important. To work properly, your muscles, nerves and heart need calcium. It also helps in the clotting of your blood. To know the amount of calcium in your blood, calcium blood test is done.

  • Cholesterol and Lipid Tests

  • ESR Test

It is checked whether there is inflammation in the body in the erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) test. As this test doesn’t indicate what is causing the inflammation nor where it is, it is usually done along with other tests.

  • Folate Test

Sometimes called a complete blood count (CBC) or full blood examination (FBE), a full blood count (FBC) is a very common blood test. About a range of conditions it can provide information, though it is a test for general health.

  • Iron Studies

Blood tests that look at how much iron is in there in your blood and in other cell are known as iron studies. Serious problems may happen if there is too little or too much iron.

  • Kidney Function Tests

As kidneys filter waste from your body and regulate the salts in your blood, they are very important. Your kidneys may not work effectively for various reasons. Your doctor can check-up on your kidney function with the help of kidney function tests. Information about your kidney function can be provided by different blood and urine tests done in diagnostic centers.

  • Liver Function Tests

Blood tests providing information about how your liver is working are called liver function tests. The levels of a number of proteins and enzymes produced by liver cells or released into the blood when liver cells are damaged are tested by these.

  • Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA) Test

The detection and monitoring of prostate cancer can be done with the help of the Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA) blood test. For detecting prostate cancer in men having symptoms, it is also used but for men not having any symptoms, it is not recommended.
